Our weekend in Williamsburg was complete, thanks to a wonderful stay at the Country Inn & Suites By Carlson. Visit Mom Central Travels to read all about it, with some highlights and lots of photos below!
Driving only a few minutes back to our hotel, and being able to collapse onto a comfy bed after a busy day at Busch Gardens was priceless! We stayed at the Country Inn & Suites near the Historic Area.
A closer view of the landscaping in the front… yep, those are chili peppers!
Check-in was a breeze. We could even help ourselves to yummy cookies in the lobby!
Our room, a one-bedroom suite, was lovely. With two full-size beds and a pull-out sofa bed, big enough for a big family to share. Two TVs allowed us to watch the news in one room, while the girls watched cartoons in the other. A fridge and microwave allowed us to bring home our leftovers and reheat them later in the day. The rooms were all renovated not too long ago, and looked exactly like the photos on hotel’s website. WYSIWYG.
Maura found the perfect spot to sit in the lobby. Or the ‘living room’ as the girls called it.
The amenities are what impressed me the most.
- Free high-speed wireless Internet.
- Free continental breakfast.
- Free newspapers during the week.
- Read It & Return library of books, free to check out.
- DVD players upon request, and DVDs for a small fee.
- A business center – free to use!
- A fitness room. Newly renovated, with new machines and lots of light!
The indoor pool and spa were a big hit! I love that 1) the pool is indoors, and 2) that it’s open from 7am to 11pm. You can go for a swim before sightseeing in Williamsburg, and then again for a quick, relaxing dip when you come back in the evening.
There were a couple of things that I think Country Inns could improve upon…
but you’ll have to click over to my review at Mom Central Travels to read all about that. 😉

Have you stayed at a Country Inn before?
My family and I were provided with a complimentary one-night stay at Country Inns & Suites by Carlson, while in Williamsburg for Media Day at Busch Gardens. All opinions (and photos) are mine.

We stay at that hotel when we make our yearly trip to Williamsburg. It’s a great location & price.
