There’s nothing like listening to your favorite holiday songs to put you in great spirits this season! This is why every year around this time, I like to add a new holiday album to our collection of Christmas music. Today, it’s time to let it go and “Let It Snow” with Idina Menzel! The voice of Elsa in the mega-hit Frozen and star of Wicked, Rent, Glee and If/Then, Idina has a new album called Holiday Wishes. It’s 12 tracks of holiday hits, including guest performances by Kenny G and Michael Bublé.
Holiday Wishes is out now on Warner Bros. Records. It was produced by Grammy Award-winner Walter Afanasieff (who’s worked with Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, and Mariah Carey) and features such classic favorites as “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” “White Christmas” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” as well as Joni Mitchell’s Christmas-themed “River,” one of Menzel’s favorites. Another highlight is a duet with international superstar Michael Bublé on “Baby It’s Cold Outside.” Their voices work well together!
My personal favorites from this album are “Do You Hear What I Hear,” which I’ve liked singing to my daughters since they were babies, and “Silent Night,” which Idina does a beautiful version of. But all the songs are wonderful! My daughters even recognized Elsa’s voice, which they thought was very cool.
