Power Capes: Review

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s an… affordable Halloween costume!

I am not a Halloween person. I know that some people get a real thrill out of having the stuffing scared out of them and can’t wait to dress up and show off their creative (or not so creative) costumes. Other than the promise of candy, I am a total Halloween scrooge. The thought of dressing up makes me cringe and I am a complete wimp when it comes to anything scary. I do, however, love seeing the little kids in their costumes. The costumes, however, cost a fortune and are outgrown by Christmas.

The folks at Power Capes have given me a solution–an affordable costume that my two-year old won’t outgrow in a couple of months and one that won’t scare the living daylights out of the old lady down the street. Power Capes has everything needed to outfit your little (or big) superheros. They have over 3,000 pre-made capes ready to ship and offer a host of custom cape designs as well as those all important superhero accessories… you can’t be a caped crusader without a mask and wristbands! My son’s cape was jet black with an electric red lightning bolt trimmed in blue. The fabric was lightweight (perfect for beginner flying boy wonders) and the Velcro kept it securely fastened around his neck but did not pose a choking hazard. The cape fit him perfectly with room to grow. Capes are available in sizes for toddlers through adults and are have designs from the super tough shield to the cutesy princess crown. Custom capes are also available.

As a once wannabe Wonder Woman, Power Capes has even managed to make this Halloween party pooper a little nostalgic and I secretly, very secretly wish for a cape of my own.

BUY IT

The Superhero cape and other Power Cape accessories are available online. Visit their website for additional information.

Disclosure: I was provided with a complimentary cape in order to facilitate this review, the opinions are my own.
