“Why is Ariel your favorite princess?” I asked. “Because she swims. And she has red hair. She’s different than the other princesses,” my 4-year-old responds. Now that I think about, it makes complete sense. Maura is stubborn, adventurous, defiant, yet so loving… just like Ariel. They’re a perfect match.
During our last trip to Walt Disney World, we had the pleasure of meeting Ariel at Cinderella’s Royal Table. It was probably the most memorable moment of the entire trip. Maura was excited, yet incredibly nervous. I was nervous for her! Would Ariel live up to her expectations?
Oh, yes! She LOVED her, perhaps even more than before.
Nothing could take that smile off her face!
I think I have always also liked Ariel because she is the first Disney princess I ever knew. I have no idea why I watched The Little Mermaid before the movies before it, but I did 🙂
