Summer is in full swing, and I have to admit there are times when I just have no idea what to do with my kids on these long, hot days! The great thing is that my girls are pretty good at finding ways to keep themselves entertained. From splashing around in the sprinkler, to having a picnic in the backyard with a lunch they make all by themselves, to them, summer is all about relaxed fun and spending quality time with family.
The girls have been wanting to have a lemonade stand for weeks now, so I finally gave in when Mom Central and Target offered me a super cool kit that I surprised them with over the weekend. I love shopping at Target. Don’t you?
This summer, Target is helping families make everyday moments more memorable with an affordable variety of bright colors and fun patterns splashed across everything from melamine dinnerware to picnic baskets. These durable items deliver the practicality our outdoor gatherings need in the styles we crave! For the kids in the family, Target provides hours of outdoor fun with everything from giant badminton sets to mini-golf to lemonade stand kits.
Setting up our lemonade stand was easy-peasy.
The girls insisted on selling pink lemonade. Figures.
As far as the products go, I really love the juice container and ice bucket… because once the girls are done selling their lemonade, I can use these for my own parties! The banner and sign are adorable, too, and can be reused over and over again. I do wish the money box were made of plastic instead of cardboard, however, since it’ll likely be splashed with lemonade (or rained on) and won’t last long.
The girls made some money! And they liked it.
Unfortunately Mother Nature rained on our lemonade parade. Literally. So we packed everything up and found refuge indoors, where I had a backup plan: a fun craft.
Even when rain creeps its way into the forecast, the excitement and energy of summer vacation continues with Todd Oldham’s Kid Made Modern arts and crafts collection. Exclusively at Target stores and Target.com, the line encourages creativity with its wide range of do-it-yourself art supplies that are vibrant, fun and affordable – with everything under $20! We started a “wallet” out of some super cool duct tape.
I also have a board book kit that I’m saving for another rainy day.
As you can see, Target is the destination for everything families need to make the most of summer at great prices. To learn more, visit Target’s Facebook page and Target.com. By the way, Target’s “Summer-izer” Facebook application lets you and your kids add “Big Honkin’ Summer” icons to photos, and then share them online or print at your local Target Photo Center. Fun!
