Blog ‘Spring Cleaning’ – Day 13

So you know that editorial calendar that I spent hours working on last week? I have to scratch it and move all the information to my calendar app because I can’t edit Google Docs on my iPad. Big wahhh right? Haha. I just like to whine. I’ve had my nose in my iPad all week, so sorry for getting behind on these tasks. Okay, I’m not really sorry. I’ve been having fun with it.

Day 13: Take a trip to the ‘mall’

I know this sounds strange, but it really makes sense. Take some time to stroll around a busy mall and you can see what marketing tactics really work, and maybe even learn something that you can use on your blog. If the mall isn’t your thing, go somewhere else. Writing’s your passion? Head over to Barnes & Noble to see what people are reading, how books are displayed. If you’re a food blogger, go to a trendy restaurant or a gourmet grocery store.

Me? I’ll be going to the Mall this weekend, but not the shopping kind. I love taking the girls to the National Mall to check out a museum or two, and to let them run around for a while. It’s great for people watching.

Today’s homework?

• Step away from the computer for a bit. Go to the mall or somewhere where a lot of people gather and take some time to observe. Read about this task on ProBlogger. I’ll give you the weekend to complete this, and will be back with a new task on Monday.
