Did you know that each year, more than 290,000 women will be diagnosed with breast and gynecological cancers and more than 67,000 will pass away from these all-too-prevalent cancers?
I lost a dear aunt to cancer almost exactly one year ago, and my grandmother is now dying of cancer as well. Although a solemn subject matter, we all know of someone affected by a women’s cancer and know that patients require strong support networks from friends and family. By lending support to pioneering cancer research and treatment centers such as City of Hope and its women’s cancers initiative, we can contribute to breakthroughs in prevention, treatment and survivorship, demonstrating that we’re “all in,” together.
Based in California, City of Hope’s research advances cancer care globally. City of Hope experts know that fighting one women’s cancer at a time is not enough – that’s why they’ve taken a unique, multidisciplinary approach to improve treatment and survivorship for women with breast and gynecological cancers. The City of Hope women’s cancers program aims to help women live longer, better lives, through compassionate care.

While medicine has made incredible progress in the past few years, it’s not an exact science many tend to want it to be. And particularly when it comes to cancer, the process gets tougher because the disease and treatments are getting so extremely complex.
We are all brought up to believe in what our physician tells us, follow his or her advice, and we’ll be good to go. Not so with cancer. Cancer is such a complex disease that this does not really apply. There is a saying that laughter is the best medicine.
Several top oncologists do not believe it’s possible to successfully treat a cancer patient who thinks or feels they will die from the disease. That is not to say that if you believe you will get well, you will.At the very least you”ll have a fighting chance at life.
It is our belief that the more family, friends , love, and letting a child be just that, even if they have cancer, is their best hope and best medicine to add in a larger picture. Always keep a positive attitude. Sure, it’s tough at times, but it’s better than the alternative.
This is all the same for every illness. Everything works better when you fight to stay positive. Why, because your fighting. We believe in City of Hope. We are so glad you are doing all you can to aid in a cure for Breast Cancer We at Laptops of Love will forever do our part to help and support your beliefs.

M. Mahkovtz, I could not agree more. You make a wonderful point! And i would take it a step further and say that not only is laughter the best medicine but it’s the best preventative vitamin as well. Too many people would rather take pills to get ‘better’ after getting sick than eat well and live well to BE well all the time. I’m not perfect, i sometimes have a little more wine and a little more chocolate than is recommended, i sometimes let myself get stressed by the everyday to-do’s, but i love a lot, i laugh a lot, i do yoga, i meditate, i take hikes with my son and hubby and i fill our kitchen with as many organic fruits and veggies as it will fit–leaving room for the wine and the chocolate of course. This is not to say that i am immune from one day receiving the news that i have cancer, there is no guarantee. But I want to do everything i can to put the ‘odds’ in my favor. And to all those that are diagnosed with cancer i vow to do the walks, pledge my money, and send you love, peace and strength every day.
