I drink tons of water. Well, not tons, but easily 100oz a day, occasionally a gallon. I don’t even think about it much anymore. You know that’s when it’s become a habit. 😉 Sometimes, though, I crave a little flavor and a squeeze of lemon just won’t do! This is when I reach for my stash of Crystal Light On The Go packets. I always keep some in my purse and have a couple of boxes in the kitchen cabinet.
I was recently sent a case of the new Crystal Light Pure to try out. This new product from Crystal Light contains no artificial sweeteners, flavors or preservatives. It comes in the same convenient On The Go packages and is available in five flavors: Grape, Strawberry Kiwi, Tropical Blend, Mixed Berry and Lemonade. Two of the flavors (Grape and Strawberry Kiwi) contain electrolytes to help aid hydration during light physical activity.
Crystal Light Pure is sweetened with sugar and Truvia, an all-natural, no-calorie sweetener derived from the stevia plant, and colored and flavored with natural ingredients. I use Truvia for my morning coffee, so was happy to see that Crystal Light is using it now as well.
When I opened the box and saw that all I got was Grape, I was kind of disappointed, as I’m not generally a fan of artificial grape flavoring. I added a packet of it to a bottle of water anyway, and was pleasantly surprised – I actually liked it. It has a tartness to it, almost like a lemonade. You can control how much powder you put in to your water, of course, but even using the entire packet, it’s not overly sweet at all. It’s fine at room temperature, but especially refreshing when I drank it chilled, and at just 15 calories per 8 fl. oz. serving (half a packet), it’s a beverage that I won’t feel guilty about! Visit Crystal Light Pure’s website and Facebook page for more info.
