I participated in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Zact.
I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
Maya, my 9-year-old, has asked me repeatedly when she’ll be old enough to get a cellphone. “10? 11?” she pleads. Um, how about 14 or 15?, I respond. I didn’t get my first cellphone until I was 19, and I was just fine! But times were different back then, I guess. (15 years ago!)
She has an iPod that she’s kind of obsessed with… and while I want her to be able to contact me when not at home, I’m afraid that once she gets a phone, things will get even worse, and she’ll be spending way too much time on it, sharing more than she should. Not to mention the extra expense.
Like Maya, I’m sure many tweens and teens have a smartphone at the top of their holiday wish list this year! I recently learned about Zact, a no contract nationwide mobile service, that has parental controls where I can easily set amount of text and data usage, who children can contact or be contacted by, as well as set curfews, such as at homework, meal, or bed times. This sounds like the perfect solution once my daughter gets her own smartphone! Zact was recently awarded the seal of approval from The National Parenting Center and their average monthly bill is only $22! You pay only for what you use, and you get money back towards your next month’s bill if you don’t use all of your service. Totally doable.
Are your kids asking for a smartphone this holiday season? If so, check out Zact Mobile and learn how their features help provide parents peace of mind!
