Most nights we don’t have dessert after dinner. We save that for when we go out to eat, which makes it extra special.
One night last week, however, my dear hubby and the 4-year old were craving something sweet, so I looked through the pantry, fridge, and freezer, and thought I’d put something together from whatever ingredients I could find.
I remembered a recipe for Easy French Toast Smores from Farm Rich, and just happened to have cinnamon french toast sticks in the freezer. But no marshmallow fluff or chocolate sauce. Bummer.
I did have a bag of jumbo marshmallows and about 1/4 cup of chocolate chips, though, so Maya pushed her step stool up to the kitchen counter, and together we came up with this:
After a few minutes under the broiler, we had a gooey, delicious, restaurant-worthy dessert.
The picture doesn’t do it justice. What does your family like for dessert?

OMG! that looks fantastic as I sit here salivating. I am going to try it tonight. My favorite thing is just peanut butter and chocolate chips melted together.

YUM! I was just telling DH that I never had S’mores before. These look good too! For dessert, I really love homemade ice cream. Or choc. chip cookies. or cheesecake. pretty much anything =)!

We’re ice cream junkies. Purchase only Edy’s Chocolate. Very good. Sometimes with choc syrup. Someone bought orange sherbert with chocolate chips. All I can say is what were they thinking…we only eat chocolate in this house!

Yum, looks good. And very clever for a last minute dessert! I am a big ice cream person; that’s definitely my dessert of choice. Especially in the summer. Although angel food cake is another dessert I like a lot in the summer, and with berries and a little whipped cream, you don’t feel too guilty about eating it!
