So I just got back from a little shopping trip to T.J. Maxx. The girls and I were looking for something for their dad for Father’s Day. Last minute shopping, as always!

I love that as soon as you walk in the door, there are a ton of gift ideas right there, so potentially you could grab something and be out of the store in minutes. But I had time to browse, so I walked around the store to see what else I could find. I pulled out my Flip to capture some of the fun gift ideas:

As you saw in the video, you can find sports equipment, shaving tools, cologne, travel mugs, lovely frames, and even some very manly-looking furniture, all at great prices!

Some more ideas:

  • If you’re like me, and want something a little more practical, there’s a huge variety of undershirts, briefs, and socks. That’s what I picked up on my trip today. For under $25 I got my hubby a big package of each, all brand-name. Not a very exciting gift, but something he definitely needs!

  2. We always buy father-in-law books since he travels and camps often, the boys make him a stepping stone every year for his garden. The boys got their dad a grill this year as we have been saving credit card points for several months for this.

  3. I’m just making the hubs breakfast today. Usually, he’s the one who brings me breakfast in bed (yes, every day). I am the spoiled one – but that is because it usually takes me until noon to get myself going because of my spinal injury and my surgery this past February. So today, I made him scrambled eggs with cheese and toast. He was very happy, he was also really happy that his son remember to call, he’s forgotten the last couple of years, but now that his son is a dad, I think it makes him more cognizant.

  9. Hubby and I don’t normally give each other anything on mother’s/father’s day. We do let each other choose what to do on our special day, though. The kids always make or buy us things, though. This year the kids drew pictures and a made a little book for hubby.

  11. I made hubby a fancy schmancy breakfast in bed, got him a GC from his favorite store in the whole world (Best Buy) and 2 polo shirts in summery colors (Lime and butternut squash).

  61. Funny that you posted the flip video — I bought my husband a flip video for father’s day. It is so much easier than dealing with tapes, and I love how portable it is.

  164. My husband and I didn’t get anything for each other for mother’s/father’s day this year. I am pregnant, so we are kinda parents, but not quite yet. =) We decided to save money this year and skip gifts. That gift card would come in handy for baby clothes! I am due in a month! =)

  194. My husband recently found out he has diabetes, and the poor guy was pretty down about it. So to cheer him up, on Father’s Day one of the presents I got him was a Jelly Belly gumball machine with sugar-free Jelly Belly Beans!!! It’s so kewl and awesome!! It looks like a fancy-shmancy gumball machine, but you put gourmet Jelly Belly Beans in it, twist the golden key, and Jelly Belly Beans come out into the golden scoop! It sure made my hubby smile and laugh! Thank you for the contest!

  195. The only father in my immediate family right now is my son-in-law, and the rather odd gift I gave him was to pay for a doctor’s visit! He has recently been laid off so has no insurance, and sprained his knee rather badly. Normally wouldn’t have gone to the doctor for that but really were afraid he might have torn a ligament or something. Says he will never kneel down to do any yard work again!
