Go Back to School with HEALTHY ESSENTIALS

September 5, 2014 by Mariana

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or Email Updates. Thanks for visiting!

This post is part of the HEALTHY ESSENTIALS® 2014 program by Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. and The Motherhood, who sent me a box of products and compensated me for my time. Opinions, experiences and photos shared here are all my own, and I hope you enjoy them.

School is back in session – yay! While I’m happy to have a little more free time now that the kids are out of the house, I do miss those lazy summer days when we didn’t have to wake up early, had no place we had to be, and could stay in our PJs all day if we wanted. Now it’s back to the crazy routines – early morning scrambles, homework, consistent bedtimes, and all that fun stuff. I’m exhausted, and it’s only the first week!

No worries – Healthy Essentials products can help you re-energize your routine as the new school year begins! These are some of my current favorites:

#HealthyEssentials

AVEENO® POSITIVELY RADIANT® Skin Brightening Daily Scrub
Simplifying my morning routine is important, as is healthy, glowing skin, so I like to use this scrub to gently exfoliate and cleanse my skin at the same time. It leaves my skin soft, smooth and more even looking.

LISTERINE® HEALTHY WHITE™ GENTLE Rinse
Just started using this new rinse, and I like it because it safely whitens teeth without peroxide AND has the added benefit of fluoride, all with a pleasant flavor.

VISINE® L.R. Long Lasting Redness Relief Eye Drops
These busy days back at work mean long hours at the computer, which equals red, irritated eyes. I always have a bottle of Visine within reach… this one is specially formulated to provide up to 6 hours of eye redness relief.

CLEAN & CLEAR® ADVANTAGE® Acne Spot TreatmentCLEAN & CLEAR® ADVANTAGE® Acne Spot Treatment
Tuesday morning, my daughter literally woke up with 10 pimples, out of nowhere! It could have been back to school jitters, the oily burger-and-fries dinner she had the night before to celebrate the end of summer, or just puberty. Who knows… but she fuh-reaked OUT! There were tears. Lots of them. And she locked herself in her room, refusing to go to school. I pulled out a tube of this acne treatment, and suddenly everything was better. It’s shown to reduce pimples in just four hours with maximum strength 2% salicylic acid, and without over-drying her skin. While Maya’s face isn’t completely clear, I know it’ll get there.

NEUTROGENA® Oil Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit
I explained to Maya that to help prevent acne breakouts like the one on the first day of school, she has to make sure to wash her face every morning when she wakes up and at night before bed. A cleanser like this is just what she needs, and it smells amazing!

JOHNSON’S® Baby NO MORE TANGLES® 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner
This is a lifesaver in the mornings! After washing her hair with this the previous night, my daughter wakes up with soft, tangle-free hair, which makes it much easier to brush and style. Waking up early to catch the bus doesn’t leave us much time to do so.

LISTERINE® SMART RINSE® Anticavity Fluoride Rinse, Phineas & Ferb Bubble Blast
Fewer cavities is what we’re aiming for this year. Cutting down on sweets and snacks will help, as will an anticavity mouthwash like this. For kids ages 6 and older, it provides 12-hour cavity protection and strengthens teeth 99% better than brushing alone.

Back to school time is a good time to review all your routines. As the kids get older they need different things, and setting a review schedule helps keep on top of it!

We love Aveeno products but have started trying to go with products that are even more natural and healthy!

I’m glad companies are keying in to the desire of consumers to become healthier … I just hope it’s not all about marketing but truly about helping people become healthier. Consumers need to really educate themselves about what healthy really means because labels don’t mean anything! 🙂
