As I said in a previous post, this year our celebrating started almost a week early. I decided last minute to go to Boo at the Zoo on Sunday with the girls. The weather couldn’t have been any more beautiful!
I’m not sure what Maya enjoyed more – the trick-or-treating or just gazing at everyone else’s costumes. “There’s Cinderella! And ANOTHER Cinderella! And looook! A PARROT, Mommy, a big PARROT!” That went on all evening.
It really wasn’t in our budget this year to buy a new costume, nothing in the right size came up in our neighborhood exchange, so I decided that I’d let Maya come up with her own outfit from her dress-up box. She had her heart set on being a ‘fairy princess ballerina’ but at the last minute her wings were nowhere to be found, so she made do with just being a ‘princess ballerina’.
Baby wore a costume that Grandma originally gave to her big sis a few years back. Seeing the puzzled look on people’s faces when they saw her was funny. “Is she a bee? Is she Winnie the Pooh?” Actually, she was disguised as Winnie the Pooh in a bee costume. Cute, huh? Her daddy whispered to me that he thought she looked like a “pregnant Pooh”. I couldn’t get that visual out of my head all evening!
To make a long story short, we had a blast and came home with a ton of goodies:
I was happy to see that only about a third of it was actually candy! The rest? Granola bars, cheese puffs, popcorn, juice boxes, stickers, and lots of other fun stuff.
