Who knew there were so many RadioShack stores in DC? They’re everywhere! D St, K St, Connecticut Ave, 7th St, 14th St, 15th St, and more. In preparation for the holidays, I visited the 12th street location last week to look for some holiday gifts for the kids and a few other family members…
It was a successful shopping trip! I picked up a few things for our family’s gift exchange, including a headset for my husband – and a few other surprises – but I have to admit it was hard not to buy something for myself!
My RadioShack wish list (in case you were wondering): An iPhone 5S, in gold, please; a Nikon dSLR; a Fitbit Force… and I wouldn’t say no to Beats by Dr. Dre headphones!
About the newly renovated stores… they’re great! Spacious and bright, and stocked with the newest products. Everything is easy to find on the shelves, well-organized, and the aisles are nice and big so you don’t find yourself bumping into other customers. Smart phones and tablets are definitely the hot-sellers! Several customers walked out with new iPads in the few minutes I was there. I also liked the little ‘stocking stuffers’ near the check out.
By the end of this year, RadioShack will have more than 100 concept and brand statement stores open and will have made improvements to nearly all 4,300 stores throughout the nation. So far, close to 2,000 stores have completed a “reset” with new paint and interior signage updating to current brand standards. Lookin’ good, RadioShack!
Also keep an eye (or an ear?) out for RadioShack’s Speaker Wall, an interactive display in RadioShack’s new concept stores where customers can play music on a selected speaker to see how it sounds as compared to the other speakers. Pretty cool!
