Today’s “Toy Tuesday” focus is not so much a toy, but an experience!
The mailman conveniently parks in front of our house to deliver the mail on our street everyday, and Maya bursts out the door as soon as she sees him, in hopes that he’ll have something special just for her! More often than not, this isn’t the case, so she was especially excited to receive a package from Little Passports this summer. This is a subscription-based monthly mailing that provides your child with a unique way to learn about other countries and cultures.
The Explorer Kit is the first kit that your child receives, and the one that we were given the opportunity to review. The kit consists of a mini-suitcase filled with:
- a personalized introductory letter from Sofia and Sam
- a world map
- a passport
- stickers
- an activity sheet
- and a boarding pass with a secret code to access a series of online games and activities
Every month, for as long as your subscription lasts, your child will receive a new package from Sam and Sofia, as they travel around the world. Each Adventure Kit will include unique souvenirs and gifts from that month’s featured country, all appropriate for children 5 and up.
This is such a fun way for kids to learn about geography, history, culture, and language. Maya loved looking through her Explorer Kit and following along as I read the letter to her. The online games were fun, but would probably be enjoyed more by a child just a little older that can read already. The map is now on the wall in her room, and she carries the suitcase everywhere!
At $10.95 a month, including shipping, this is a wonderful and affordable gift for your child, grandchild, niece, or nephew. In addition, a portion of each subscription purchase goes to select children’s charities. Little Passports provided us with a complimentary Explorer Kit for this review.
