Our elves have come back to visit, but not even they can put me in the Christmas spirit for some reason. It’s just been one of those weeks, you know?
Every year since my daughters were born, I’ve bought a new ornament for both of them, and sometimes one for my husband and myself. My thought is that when the girls move out, they’ll already have a collection of special ornaments to put on their first tree. The last few years, they’ve been choosing their own ornament. All I ask is that it says something about them, and hopefully not be terribly expensive. No Swarovski snowflakes on my tree!
This was Maura’s pick for 2015. She picked it out at one of the Christmas shops at Universal Studios Florida when we were there in September. The poor girl can never find her name on anything! And she sure loves those Minions!
When she brought it to me so I could pay for it, I smiled and told her I understood how she felt about her name, since I can never find mine either – Mariana. She offered to share the ornament with me. Isn’t that sweet?!
I’d love to hear about your cherished ornaments!
