I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Moms Rule.
I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
Being a mom is hard. It’s exhausting. It really is. But it’s also incredibly rewarding and so, so fun. I can’t even imagine doing anything else! Sure, my girls may make me mad sometimes, fighting with each other, talking back, and making messes… but my crazy kids also keep me endlessly entertained.
Like when my younger daughter told me, through tears, the other day that she was having “such a crummy day.” I glanced over, sympathetically, and then saw that it was a crumby day, indeed. Cracker crumbs all over her, the table, and the floor. It was if a package of saltines had exploded around her. I didn’t ask any questions. I just grabbed the broom and cracked up laughing, as she looked at me confused, not understanding the unintentional double-meaning of what she said.
Or when my oldest daughter pops out of my bed in the morning, after sneaking under the comforter when I get up to go to the bathroom. She scares the $%&@ out of me every single time. While part of me is really annoyed by it (I’m SO not a morning person!) I have to laugh it off because she ALWAYS gets me. You’d think I’d come to expect it by now, right? I guess I can blame it on my lack of sleep.
And don’t even get me started on all the embarrassing things they do in PUBLIC! Sigh. Sometimes I don’t even want to take them out. You just can’t help but laugh in these situations, because after all, laughter often proves to be the best medicine for keeping our sanity. For our own sakes, we must find the comedy in motherhood!
On that note, have you seen Stephanie Blum’s MOMS RULE YouTube series? Designed to make you laugh out loud, it’s a funny web series that exposes the secrets all moms have in common. Stephanie is a former school psychologist from Brooklyn turned hilarious stand-up comedian and has a lot to say! So much so that she was signed to be in a new comedy series on TLC called WHAT SHE SAID that premieres during TLC’s “Mother Of All Weeks”. The sneak peek will air on Mother’s Day – Sunday, May 10th – at 11pm ET/10pm CT on TLC. The What She Said sneak peek is a really funny. Moms experiencing the same things can certainly relate!
