100 DAYS OF WEIGHT LOSS, DAY 5
Everyone should have a “magic” notebook… that little spiral notebook that you keep in your purse or on your nightstand to record your random thoughts. 😉 Pulling out my notebook before bed the past few nights has been nice. I can get used to this! Now transferring my scribbles to my blog is more of a challenge, but I’ll get there. I’m almost caught up. Why don’t I write directly on my computer, you ask? Somehow I feel like the time it takes to hand-write my thoughts helps me slow down and really think about things…
On that note, for me this blog is also a little magical! If you enjoy writing, I highly recommend you start your own. I’m happy to help you out! In fact, my daughter loves to write and started blogging, though I’m not sure if she’s ready for me to share it just yet. She’s already an avid journaler, but I’m hoping a blog will help her improve her writing skills since others might see it one day!
So all this week I’ve been doing a good job being mindful about the food I consume each day, but one technique I’m going to experiment with is writing down what I want to eat. Let’s say I’m thinking about ice cream. I even go so far as walking over to the freezer. But thinking about food doesn’t mean I have to eat it, right? As I write it down in my notebook and save it for another day, I’ll anticipate the pleasure of eating it some other time and let the thoughts of eating it leave my mind as I write. Sing it with me:
Let it go, let it go, turn away & slam the pantry door… I didn’t really want that Oreo anyway.
Will this work? Ha! We shall see. I better buy a bigger notebook…
Today’s
- Exercise: I walked back and forth from my daughters’ school… mile each way and hilly.
- Steps: 8392
- Craving: Pumpkin bread. And Oreos.
- Reading: Nothing
