New from National Geographic – the National Geographic Kids Almanac 2010!
I sat down with Maya moments after receiving this book and we flipped through it together. The content is easy to read, the graphics are eye-catching, and just the sheer amount of information packed into this little book is impressive! It’s divided into 9 different sections and color-coded so you can easily find what you’re looking for.
Bet you didn’t know that a cockroach can live for up to nine days without its head… or that the tallest snowman ever built was taller than a ten-story building! Just two of the hundreds of facts that can be found in this book (and that my 5-year-old is impressing her friends with!) With more than 350 pages of amazing facts, crafts, games, puzzles, and hundreds of beautiful photos, I’m sure we’ll be reaching for this book often, whether it be for some fun reading, or as a reference for homework help once the girls are in school.
Best for kids ages 8 to 12, and available in both hard and softcover versions, the National Geographic Kids Almanac 2010 can be purchased on the National Geographic website – https://bit.ly/NGKids-Shop – and everywhere books are sold!

I looked at the magazine as a child, but have only been to the website with my 6 year old daughter…a lot of great stuff there. We would enjoy winning this book, because it sounds like it would be amazing. Thanks for the chance to win.
We look at the magazine at the library and bookstore and then we go home and look up the info on their website. It’s a very educational magazine and we love talking about it over dinner.
We use National Geographic alot as part of our Social Studies Unit. I have most of the maps saved, as well.
I subscribe by email.
Yanno, I honestly can’t remember ever looking at National Geographic as a child. And I don’t think my kids ever have either. That’s definitely something I need to change. I’m sure it’d be a great Homeschooling resource.

I used to spend alot of time at my grandparents when I was younger. They have bookshelves lining their stairway in the front hall. My cousins and I would play “library” and “teacher” for hours and would read from the national geographic out loud even if we had no idea what it meant. There was a specifir one we would “teach” from about Yellowstone Park where my aunt lived. When I finally had the chance to go out to see it for myself all I could think about was the facts I learned in the magazine such as the reason the teton mountains recieved its name. Anways thats my memory of national geographic and hope that my own family can enjoy them too.
My son loves animals and nature so he loved reading the kids version of this magazine. He has kept all of them and sometimes still takes them out to look at.
My oldest son had use a National Geographic for reference for a book report that he did. Would love to win this book. Thanks.
