You know, I’m usually pretty traditional when it comes to the gum I like to chew. I tend to stick to Spearmint, Peppermint, Wintergreen, etc., so when Trident gave me the opportunity to try their new Trident Layers gum, I thought it would be a good way to experiment with some new flavors.
The two flavor combinations are:
Wild Strawberry & Tangy Citrus and Green Apple & Golden Pineapple
Each piece of Trident Layers has three distinct and visible colored layers. When you bite into it for the first time, you can clearly taste the different flavors. There is no other gum like it! You could even call it a ‘gumwich’. Both varieties were good, though I think I prefer the sweet Pineapple with the tartness of the Green Apple in between. The flavor of the gum lasted longer than I anticipated, and it has a nice, soft texture. It also has a freshness that I didn’t expect from a fruity flavor. Like all Trident gum, Trident Layers has less than 5 calories per piece and is sugar-free (though it does contain 2 carbs per serving).
Trident Layers is an exciting product, as it capitalizes on recent fruit trends in the gum industry and introduces a new and unique layered gum format. It’s the biggest innovation for Trident since 2005! Visit TridentGum.com to print out a coupon to save 75 cents on any single pack of Trident Layers (which is a really good deal considering a pack is what… 99 cents?).
Other than a sample of Trident Layers, no compensation was received for this post.
