No time to eat in the morning? Don’t even think of skipping breakfast, the most important meal of the day… just shake things up a little. Quaker Breakfast Shakes, a new shelf-stable, grab-and-go beverage from The Quaker Oats Co., can help! I’ve been adding oatmeal to my morning smoothies for years, but it’s nice to know that now I can have something similar in a more convenient package.
Quaker Breakfast Shakes come in three varieties: Chocolate, Strawberry and Vanilla. I appreciate these basic flavors, as my kids are much more likely to drink these than an exotic combination of fruits. Maura doesn’t usually like artificially-flavored strawberry beverages, but she really enjoyed this one. The chocolate one was my personal favorite – rich and creamy, with a sweet chocolatey flavor. As for the mouthfeel, these shakes are thicker and richer than milk, especially if you drink them really chilled, but you don’t actually sense the oats at all.
Each 11.1-oz bottle boasts 8 grams of whole grain oats, 10 grams of protein, 6 grams of fiber and 200 calories, giving you a tasty and convenient way to get the wholesome goodness you want. I can see myself drinking one of these when I have to run out of the house early in the morning, or perhaps when I need a quick protein boost after a workout. Because the shakes are shelf-stable, you can have a pack on hand at home AND at the office for those times you’re in a rush and are tempted to skip breakfast! For more information, visit the Quaker Breakfast Shakes product page.
