Rubbermaid Easy Find Lids

rubbermaid box setI could ask myself, “Where has Rubbermaid been all my life?” But no, everyone’s heard of Rubbermaid, me included. I’m just cheap. I’ve been getting by with using old margarine and takeout containers to store leftovers, only because I had no idea what I was missing.

Rubbermaid sent me a 20-piece set of their products a few weeks ago, and let’s just say all my old plastic containers are now in the recycling bin.

This set is amazing! It contains products from four different lines:

Easy Find Lids

  • For everyday storage.
  • Durable and long-lasting.

Produce Saver

  • Extends the life of your fruits and veggies, keeping them fresh and crisp up to 33% longer.
  • Fresh Vents in the lid allow airflow.
  • Crisp Tray, a thin insert that you place at the bottom of the container, keeps moisture away. This has worked beautifully for keeping my veggies, fruit, and herbs fresh.

Lock-Its

  • Features 4 locking tabs and a built-in rubberized gasket for an extra secure seal.
  • Perfect for throwing lunch in your child’s backpack!

Premier

  • Stain and odor resistant for a lifetime of clarity. This is the one to use when storing anything tomato-based!
  • Crystal-clear container. It’s definitely the prettiest of the bunch!
  • Flex & Seal lid that’s easy to seal and remove.

Durability and convenience is always a concern of mine. All of these products are freezer, microwave, and dishwasher safe and nothing has warped at all after being washed in the dishwasher multiple times.

Everything mentioned above also features the Easy Find Lid system. It’s hard to see it in pictures, but the way the lids just snap into the bottom of the containers so effortlessly is really neat. Since the lids snap to each other as well, it makes it easy to stack and store multiple lids and containers together.

 

When I first took everything out of the box I was afraid that I wouldn’t remember which lid went on which container, but this isn’t a problem since one lid fits multiple containers. For example, the 3 cup lid fits any 3 cup container, and so forth. I’m so happy that I’ll no longer waste time digging through my cabinet trying to find the right lid. So which of these products is my favorite? It’s hard to decide, since they all have their own unique features, but I have to say I’m partial to the Produce Saver because it’s so useful!

    • I’ve been using plastic sherbet containers but this Rubbermaid set looks great. I love how they nest and lids snap together to store. I’d like to try the “Produce Savers” especially after I just had to discard moldy strawberries & blueberries yesterday. What a waste of money. 🙁

I visited Rubbermaid’s site and would like to try their “Produce Savers” as I just wasted good money on blueberries & strawberries that molded and I had to throw them out yesterday.   201. I would love to try the produce saver products. My fiance isn’t a huge fan of fruit, so since I’m the only one in the house that eats it, I always end up throwing a ton out because it goes bad so fast. Sounds like these containers could help me get more out of what I buy.

  205. I echo several of the above comments about the produce savers. We have a juicer, and as such are constantly buying fruit, and having a portion of it go to waste. The produce saver would make our fruit last longer, and that way we wouldn’t be spending so much for fresh juice.

  233. I have one that I have been using for years and replace with a new one after it’s been abused somewhat. It’s a hinged box and a little bigger than the size of two plastic shoe boxes put together.

  253. I’d like to try any of the Rubbermaid Premier Products, because it would be great to have plastic storage pieces that were both shatter resistant, and stain resistant. I’m one of those people who store tomato based products in plastic. The plastic pieces I have right now have the pinkish red stains from doing such.
    I also need to clean up my cabinets and having pieces where the lids lock onto the bottom of the containers would help to do just that. Yes, help me another margarine and dip container user get modern with Rubbermaid.

  288. My favorite are the large containers with lids. Great for potato salad and slaw for cookouts(which we do 3 or 4 times a week) Most of mine need replacing beacuse of stains,thanks to huby and son.

My children eat fruit all of the time and with times being tough we pack our luch when we go out to the park or the zoo or to any activities, but it seems like the fruit doesn’t stay fresh for long, so this would really help.   349. I would love to try to lock it line. Any new set would be just what I need though. My boyfriend is a pack rat who develops an emotional attachment to EVERYTHING. We have a pathetic, worn out, mismatched set of containers that we can’t get rid of because they all remind him of some picnic or family outting. Winning a sparkly new set may be the motivation he needs to embrace making some new memories. 🙂

  362. I love to use Storage containers for other than food useage. From saving sewing supplies for a quick repair to keeping paper clips and other small items together. Alas the more I do this the fewer containers I have for leftovers.

  366. My favorite Rubbermaid product is the Easy Find Lids… Tupperware is the an environmental way to save money and bring lunches to school/work/etc. My biggest issue was finding the darn lids!

  386. The premeire line would be my choice….I do not think we won a bowl without a spaghetti sauce stain in it.
    The shatter proof part of that line would be a bonus to my kids insist on tossing them accross the room to each other when “helping” put the dishes away. We have “lost” many that way.
