Seeing the Sights with Transitions

June 13, 2012 by Mariana

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or Email Updates. Thanks for visiting!

Summer is almost here and I already find that we’re spending much of our day outside! It’s just so pretty around this time of year. The flowers are gorgeous… the weather, sunny and breezy. Just perfect.

See the Roses Collage

Whether you’re hitting the beach, lounging by the pool, enjoying picnics at the park, or just exploring your city (like us!) it’s so important to protect your most precious sense – vision – so you can truly experience the world around you… and stop and see the roses. While most people understand the importance of sunscreen for your skin, how are you protecting your eyes? Something to think about!

#transitionslensI’ve been wearing my Transitions Lens glasses for almost 3 months now, and am confident that I’ve made the right choice to protect the health and wellness of my eyes, as they block 100% of harmful UVA and UVB rays and make for a seamless transition from indoors to out. Long-term exposure to UV radiation can lead to a variety of eye diseases, including cataracts, and I feel good knowing I’m doing my best to prevent this! While they don’t need corrective lenses (knock on wood) my kids and my husband all have several pairs of sunglasses so they’re always prepared for sun exposure. Hats, too. Starting them with this healthy habit at a young age is a must, because there are things you can do today to protect your sight for tomorrow!

The Official Sponsor of Sightseeing

Transitions Optical created their Sightseeing campaign to encourage people across the country to protect their vision. As part of this program, Transitions is traveling to cities across the U.S. this summer, working together with its optical industry partners in an effort to educate consumers about the importance of proper eyecare, including regular eye exams for the entire family, in the hopes that a healthy vision will allow you to “see the sights” today, while also protecting it for the future.

SIGHTSEEING TOUR CITIES & DATES:

  • Seattle, Washington – this week
  • Chicago, Illinois – July 11 to 15
  • New Orleans, Louisiana – September 20 to 22

To learn more, watch this video and visit seemoresights.com/SightseeingCityTour.

This is part of a sponsored campaign with Latina Mom Bloggers and Transitions Optical. I was provided with a complimentary eye exam and pair of eyeglasses to test for the purpose of this campaign. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

Nice post. I am hearing about Transitions Lens before, but I never got the chance to try it. And now I’ve decided to buy one, thanks for sharing.. 🙂
