Take Care Clinics (special offer)

June 23, 2009 by Mariana

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or Email Updates. Thanks for visiting!

Giveaway is closed. Winners are listed here.

Take Care ClinicsTake Care Clinics, located in select Walgreens across the country, are walk-in, professional clinics that provide healthcare services for patients 18 months and older. Staffed with board-certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants, you can get treatment for everything from minor cuts and scrapes to adult vaccinations, and also receive complete health evaluations.

The great thing about these Take Care Clinics is that the treatment is affordable. If you have insurance, you just make a one-time copayment on the day you visit. If you don’t have insurance, cash payments average just $59-$80. As someone who didn’t have health insurance for a while, I know just how expensive, not to mention stressful, a simple doctor’s visit can be.

take careSchool just let out here last week, and I know many parents are getting ready to send their kids off to camp. For a limited time, the Take Care Clinics are offering half-priced camp physicals ($30) and free tips for staying healthy so that summer ailments and injuries can be prevented. These exams help to determine if a patient is able to safely participate in typical camp activities and include a complete review of the child’s health history and immunizations to ensure that they are up to date. If you’d like to take advantage of this offer, find a Take Care Clinic near you!

As a thank you for taking the time to read about this great program, I have (2) prize packs to give away that include a coffee mug, forehead thermometer, magnets and a $10 Walgreens gift-card. To enter, please visit www.takecarehealth.com to learn more about Walgreens’ Take Care Clinics and leave a comment on this post.

They tell you they types of aliments they treat right on their website and how they work in conjunction with YOUR PCP! Being a nurse, I LOVE that!
I also LOVE the fact that you can pull up a Map and find a Walgreens Take care clinic IN YOUR AREA!

This website was well thought out as was the actual Take Care Clinic!
    Props to Walgreens!

I love that Walgreen’s really cares about the economic state of most people, and here’s what I learned: “Q. Why are Walgreens and Take Care Health Systems announcing this offer?
    A. During tough economic times, the Take Care Recovery Plan gives patients peace of mind
that their basic healthcare needs will be taken care of. The offer is aligned with Take Care
Clinic’s founding focus of providing patient-centric, high-quality healthcare and an
unparalleled healthcare experience. Walgreens, Take Care Health Systems and Take Care
Clinics are demonstrating their commitment to families during tough economic times, and
believe that quality, accessible and affordable care should be the right of every individual.”

I am very pleased that Walgreens is specifically offering these Take Care Clinics to those who are unemployed and/or have no insurance. Way too often there are Americans who do not qualify for federal or state help, yet they cannot afford insurance or do not have enough money to just pay for a doctor visit. Way to go, Walgreens!!! Thank you for the contest!

I like the idea of quick care clinics to provide easy access for people who often cannot or do not have a family physician–aside from the fact that this type of care is generally cheaper for the patient (and to maintain). Not only do they provide minor illness/injury care, they are an excellent means for health education. Unfortunately they don’t have any of them in this area as yet.

I like this idea because it’s quick. Waiting at the Dr’s office can take a while

These are great – I wish there were more of them, as it would go a LONG WAY towards unclogging our overworked, over-used ER’s (especially since so many of those visits are for”non-emergent” issues!!!
