Especially when it’s not something I’m expecting! That was the case earlier this afternoon, when I opened the door to a stack of boxes almost as tall as the Fedex guy himself. Not sure what to think, I noticed one of the smaller packages had “Safety 1st” imprinted on the side. Could it be…?
Had my toddler won the “Too Cute to Spook” photo contest, and I had no idea?
I ran to my computer, pulled up the site which I still had bookmarked, and indeed, she won in her category! I was shocked, because when I went to sleep that final night of voting, just past midnight, we were behind by almost 300 votes. I was bummed and didn’t even think to go back and check.
Apparently those ahead of me were not playing fair. The Official Contest Rules allowed only one vote per person every 24 hours, and in tallying the final votes, their system “disqualified votes not conforming to the Official Rules, including multiple or duplicate votes received in a single day.” Cheating gets you nowhere!
Thank you to all of you, my wonderful readers, that voted for my daughter! Many of you did so multiple times, and as you can see, it was worth it! With the prize that I received today, I now have close to $500 worth of products that I’ll be donating to an expecting mom three weeks from today. I’m so excited!
