My kids absolutely loved watching Chuggington when they were younger. It’s such a great show! Just watch Maura here, when she was about 2 years old, telling me at bedtime “I wanna watch Chuggington in the morning, mommy!“Adorable.

Understanding that young children learn best when engaged, Chuggington and The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), have come together to create a wonderful traffic safety campaign – Think Safe, Ride Safe, Be Safe!, or ¡Piensa Seguro, Viaja Seguro, Manténte Seguro! in Spanish – that delivers important lessons to kids preschool-aged to 1st grade, all hosted by the ‘trainees’ of Chuggington – Wilson, Brewster, and my daughter’s favorite, Koko! The lessons focus on four main areas: pedestrian, bus, bike and car seat safety. Did you know that car crashes continue to be the leading cause of death for kids ages two through six? Teaching them practical tips could save them from serious injury or death.
Everyone wants to keep their children safe from car crashes. Now there’s also a Spanish-language website, www.chuggington.com/seguridad, that provides child transportation safety guidance in Spanish to families with young children. It’s an excellent resource for parents and fun destination for kids to learn while playing with their favorite Chuggington characters.
My kids have played around on the site, watching videos and playing a traffic safety ‘badge quest’ game. I printed out a few coloring pages, mazes, and other puzzles. Perfect for a rainy day and just in time to serve as a little reminder on bus safety with just over 2 weeks until school starts!
