You’re fat.
That’s what my 5-year-old daughter told me tonight, as I was putting her to bed.
ouch
She realized what she said may have hurt my feelings, and quickly corrected herself.
Well, you’re not fat, you just have a big body.
Um… okay… thanks… I guess?
This broke my heart. I just don’t even know what else to say.
I turn 30 in exactly one month and am in the worst shape of my life.

Kids say the darnedest things, don’t they? My oldest commented on my post-pregnancy stomach…5 years after having a baby. Ditto on the ouch. You are not alone!

Aww sweetie.. You’re doing a good thing. Taking it as a wake up call. Kids are so outspoken it can be scary and hurtful at the same time. My 5 year old said something about my belly recently and her dad said it wasn’t nice and she started to cry. They don’t know they are saying bad/hurtful things. I gained weight since the holidays last year so I bought the new Wii Fit Plus. I want to get into shape and lose weight too. If you need anything, just let me know. ok. Don’t feel bad. You are definitely not alone in this.

๐ My little girl is too young to talk but I saw my reflection the other day in a dressing room and that was pretty bad itself. I haven’t figured out my plan of attack but something needs done!

Oh Mariana, I know the feeling! My daughter used to tell me I have a Big Mac on my tummy! (when I pinch it, it was as thick as a Big Mac!!)
I just tell her it’s not good to comment on other’s appearance. Mom can forgive but the others might not!
So, what’s the plan of action for the wake up call?

My 5 year old boy has also hurt my feelings about my body size before. I’ve been struggling to lose all the “baby fat” after 2 pregnancies, and it’s a constant battle.
I’m physically active (I go on walks, jogs, I do DVD workouts), but it’s the snacking that kills me. When I’m tired and I feel like I deserve a break, I turn to food…I better find a healthy alternative to this…

They said kids always say the truth. Hmmm…Anyways, I guess its really a wake up call. Don’t wait until your husband complains to you because I was also complaining for my wife’s figure but then she go to gym now despite of her busy schedule. It’s nice to have exercise once in awhile. ๐

My wake-up call came when my 4-year-old started drawing pictures of our family and I was always the, er, roundest person in the picture. I joined Weight Watchers and the progress is slow but steady. Good luck!

My son probably said that at some time, but long ago he changed it tell me that I was nice and soft to hug, like a giant pillow. ๐

Darn kids and their honesty! Gotta love it….this reminds me of a conversation with my son. I wrote about here and am sharing so you know you aren’t alone, honest. https://letsbegreentogether.blogspot.com/2010/01/shocking-new-years-resolution-lose.html

I think you’re fabulous. And regardless of the decision you choose to pursue, remember – you can be healthy at every size!
