I love wipes. I don’t know why, but I just do. For Christmas last year, my boss gave me an industrial size container of wipes and I loved it. No lie. Maybe it’s the thought of killing thousands of funky germs. Maybe I’m just weird. Nevertheless, I can’t get enough. So, when offered the chance to do a review on antibacterial hand wipes, I enthusiastically jumped at the opportunity.
Germs are a big not so much for me. I am not a fanatic. I don’t shrink wrap myself before going outside, but I’ve seen enough news stories on dirty hotel rooms and plenty of inappropriate picking, scratching, and wiping on the metro to be grossed out. I also see snot being shared like it’s going out of style in my kid’s preschool. Now, I can’t constantly wipe off every nasty bit or I would have no skin left on my hands. I also understand that some amount of germs are good for immune system. However, when a particularly disgusting situation presents itself (ex. my child picking up a mysterious food particle in the middle of a grocery store parking lot puddle) I turn to my trusted friend, the antibacterial wipe.
Wet Ones Antibacterial wipes promise to kill 99.99% of germs, but unlike alcohol-based gels, they won’t dry out your skin. I found this to be true. The wipes stayed moist and were able to wipe both my hands and my kid’s hands with one wipe. My only complaint was that there was so much moisture on each wipe. My hands took a little longer to dry than with the alcohol-based gels, but they were dry in seconds. The fresh scent pleasant and not overpowering.
The wipes come in three sizes: a 40 count canister (fits into a standard car cup holder), a 15 count travel pack (perfect for a purse or diaper bag and unlike gels, you don’t have to worry about leakage), and a 24 count box of individually wrapped single wipes. Two fragrances are also available: Fresh and Citrus. There is also a line of Big Ones which are 50% bigger (those would be some giant, very dirty hands).
Wet Ones have also teamed up with Bill Nye (that’s right, the Science Guy) and the trusted expert, Dr. Sears. Check out www.wetones.com for more information and tips on how to stay healthy.

I keep wipes in the “just in case” tote that also includes things like band aides, neosporin, fabric wipes, a small flashlight, some of those little mustard, ketchup, mayo and taco sauce packets, some granola bars…you get the idea.

These definitley come in handy for my two dirt-loving boys! If we’re out I use wipes to clean their hands before having a snack or meal. The fact that Wet Ones are antibacterial is a huge plus, and easier for little ones than the liquid sanitizer!

We use them when out a lot – at the park, at the mall, at the soccer field, having lunch with the older kids at school. My youngest hates having dirty hands so Wet Ones get used a lot with her lol.
