Wordless Wednesday: a (wo)man’s best friend

Not-So-Wordless Wednesday!

This little guy has quickly become my best buddy. Chiquito follows me around all day, from the kitchen to the laundry room, out to the garden, and back. The bathroom, now that’s where I put my foot down. But no matter how long I take, he’s always waiting for me with his tail wagging when I open the door. He now shares our bedroom (much to my husband’s chagrin), sleeping on the floor next to my side of the bed, on top of whatever clothes didn’t reach the hamper that day. Even if the girls get up and run downstairs first, he won’t budge until I decide to get out of bed. It’s funny, because I always imagined he’d be more close to Maya! It must be because ultimately, I’m the one that cares for him the most. The one that feeds him, gives him fresh water every few hours, brushes his fur, takes him for late night walks (my new favorite thing to do!), bathes him, and cuddles with him while watching TV every evening. Dogs are a lot of work, but I’m loving every minute.

Both of my dogs are the very same way. They know who takes care of them the most for sure! Sometimes I trip over them, though, and it gets a bit annoying, but if they weren’t here I know I’d miss them. I’m so glad he’s been such a wonderful addition to your family. And I’ve never cared for smaller breeds much, but he sure is cute! 😉

Dogs love you unconditionally. Without fail, our dog greets me with a wagging tail every morning and every time I walk in the door.
