On Friday night I decided to surprise the girls with a picnic dinner at the Tidal Basin, for fear that with the weekend’s impending rain and wind, that would be our last chance to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom.
While we see the cherry blossoms every year, this is the first time that I visit in the evening hours, so taking photos was a little tricky. I enjoyed experimenting, though.
Hope you like them!

I was there on Friday evening also! It was beautiful watching the sunset from the Tidal Basin. Although you’re right, the traffic was especially terrible! But the beautiful scenery and photo ops made it so worth it. ๐
I went to DC in 8th grade on a school trip….many,MANY years ago. I would love to go there for a family trip. You always share such beautiful pictures making me long for it even more. Maybe I could *win* a trip. ๐

Cherry Blossom is a kind of flower that you can only see once a year. That’s why it attracts more people because of it’s uniqueness.
