I’m in NYC!

I wrote this on Friday but couldn’t upload it until now due to unforeseen circumstances.

Yes, I’m in NYC! My friends keep telling me to unplug – but I just can’t. You know me. I couldn’t even manage to sleep in past 8am this morning! There’s no wi-fi in my hotel room, however, and the connection in the hotel lobby is incredibly slow, so it’s likely you won’t hear from me too much this weekend. I’ll keep updating Twitter and Facebook with random photos/thoughts, nonetheless.

My husband and I are in New York City thanks to JetBlue, Hertz, and the Sheraton… you may remember I won an all-expenses paid trip back in May. Our 10th (!!!) anniversary is coming up very soon, so we thought this would be a perfect place to celebrate.

We arrived yesterday afternoon. There was a little mix up with our reservation, and we had to walk across the street to another hotel. No big deal, though. Then we grabbed a quick lunch from the Halal cart on 53rd and 6th. Hubby had never had this delicious meal and was pleasantly surprised street food could be SO good!

We walked around the city for a while, then had an amazingly overpriced delicious dinner at Le Bernardin. First time I’ve been to a restaurant that has a 3-star Michelin rating… or a Michelin rating at all, for that matter!

We’re staying near Times Square, so I couldn’t help but do the touristy thing and walk down there to check out all the fun stores.

Sephora has such a great vibe, with a DJ blasting loud music and the employees are super nice. I picked up a Benefit Benetint. Love that store! M&Ms world is a cute store, too.

I bought a couple of things for my little M&Ms, Maya and Maura. I miss them!

Room service this morning was just what we needed to start our day right! The hotel we were supposed to stay at didn’t offer this, so it was a nice bonus.

We have big plans for the rest of the weekend. The MoMA. A jazz concert. Cupcakes. King Tut exhibit. Comedy club. A Broadway show. More good food. In no particular order. 😉
