My husband is unbearable when he’s sick. It starts with a little sniffle, a clearing of the throat. He comes home early from work because he feels “something coming on,” he says, and asks me to touch his forehead to see if he has a fever. He goes to bed, hiding under the covers all day long, only coming downstairs now and then to sip on some hot soup. Homemade soup. Nothing else will do… nothing tastes good. He just wants to be left alone, yet he’s so needy. “Everything hurts!” he moans. He can’t speak above a whisper… he’s just so weak. No one can get close to him because he swears he’s contagious. The house is either too cold or too hot. I could go on and on.
I try my best to be sympathetic, but sometimes I just can’t help but laugh because when I’m sick, life goes on. I still have to do laundry, make dinner, and help the kids with their homework. But when my husband gets even the mildest cold, the earth pretty much stops spinning. I’m sure many of you can relate!
I refuse to let a cold cause drama, so I promptly dole out the cold medicine, make my husband a cup of hot tea, and make sure the kids know to keep quiet so he can take a nap. Advil® Cold & Sinus relieves the toughest symptoms so he can stop whining feel better and go back to work!
