“In the depths of winter I finally learned
there was in me an invincible summer.”
– Albert Camus

I’ve been all over the place this month – a few days in Denver, then NYC, followed by a 3-day retreat in DC – and was preaching the wonders of Medifast left and right. I saw people I haven’t seen in years, and the reaction I’d get was amazing, so the moment someone asked me how I’ve lost the weight, I couldn’t help but gush.

So proud of how far I’ve come since January! Almost 40 lbs lost, but have gained…
Confidence. Clarity. Focus. Strength. Determination. Self-love. I’m becoming myself.

That said, I think I became somewhat complacent when it came to eating and exercise this past month, and that has reflected on the scale which has barely budged since April. I haven’t been as active and wasn’t following the Medifast plan 100%. Sure, I could use all my traveling as an excuse, but I won’t. Because it’s not. I honestly felt like I needed a break. Like I deserved a break. So I took it. It was foolish of me, but I guess I should be thankful (and proud) I didn’t gain anything back! It’s given me a little taste of what maintenance will be like, and it’s not so bad.

This is a video I made with my friend (and fellow MFer) María José from Very Busy Mamá at the Top Blogueras Retreat last week. Love her. Thrilled to finally meet IRL!

And just like that…

I’m back. Happily eating my Medifast meals every 2 to 3 hours, measuring my protein and veggies at dinner, logging my food, and exercising every day (even if it’s the last thing I do before bed!) My birthday is just around the corner, and I’ve already instructed the family to not get me a cake. A Medifast brownie (with one little candle, hehe!) will satisfy my sweet tooth!

MY WEIGHT: 36.3 lbs lost, 15.3 still to go!

Starting: 211.6 lbs / Current: 175.3 lbs / Goal: 160 lbs

  • MONTH ONE: – 12.6 lbs
  • MONTH TWO: – 8 lbs
  • MONTH THREE: – 7.4 lbs
  • MONTH FOUR: – 3.8 lbs
  • week 17: – 1.8 lbs
  • week 18: – 1.8 lbs
  • week 19: away from the scale!
  • week 20: – 0.9 lbs

Loosing 40 lbs in about 5 months is awesome. You must have taken intense workouts.
