My ever-expanding 4all wardrobe. Love it. I’ve had this particular outfit in my possession for over a month, but am barely getting around to writing about it. Honestly, I’ve been putting it off because I didn’t like how I looked in the photos. I know that’s a shallow reason, but it’s true! If only I could be behind the camera and in front of it at the same time… No, no. Even if I could control the camera myself, still wouldn’t like how I look. It’s not the clothes. It’s me. I don’t feel like I’m doing the clothes justice, you know? I want to look as good as I feel. And the clothes make me feel really dang good! Why that doesn’t translate to what I see in the mirror is something I need to work on.
Funny… this outfit is technically golf apparel! I don’t play golf, but chose the outfit anyway, because I wanted to see how the skort compared to my knit skort, and I like the style of the Polo shirt. I wanted something that I can wear anywhere, that doesn’t necessarily scream activewear, and this fits the bill. I hardly have time to grab a cup of coffee in the morning, never mind time to change outfits multiple times a day! All my 4all apparel transitions beautifully from a one-hour power walk with a couple of friends early in the day, to picking up groceries and running a few errands, then making it home just in time to greet Maya as she gets off the school bus. I would wear these clothes all day if I could (so you know that’s a good sign), but I do try to squeeze a shower in here or there. Usually. 😉
So how does the skirt compare to the knit skort I reviewed previously? The golf skort has a more structured feel to it, with a snap and zipper closure, and zippered side pockets. It has the same undershorts which I love, love, love because they don’t ride up! The comfort of shorts with the sophistication of a chic skirt! What more could a girl want?
The Jo-Polo comes in a variety of different colors (the green from the new Portland collection is gorgeous!) and is made with Jo-Dry Jersey, a special moisture wicking fabric. It features a front zipper with a little 4all zipper pull that unfortunately Maura pulled so hard it broke. The zipper itself is undamaged, though. The shirt is definitely form-fitting, but it’s stretchy so it’s completely comfortable.
Now that I’ve had these pieces for a while, I’m particularly impressed by how well the garments have held up after so many washings! The colors are still bright, the fabrics don’t show wear… I do try to be gentle, though, washing only in cold water and not over drying, but I do that with almost all my clothes.
For those of you that are looking for stylish workout gear to take with you on vacation, 4all apparel is great for traveling! I sure have done a lot of it this year. The wrinkle resistant fabric looks perfect straight from the suitcase, and because all the pieces mix and match, I find I can easily come up with several outfit combinations without even trying! If you look at the online catalog, you’ll see that even pieces from different lines look great together.
Speaking of traveling, I’m heading to Texas again this weekend, and my 4all workout gear is already packed. You know it! I signed up for the “Keep Austin Weird” 5K on June 25th. It’s an evening run, in the sweltering Texas heat, so I wonder how I’ll do. We’ll see! I’m so much happier and more active when I have something to look forward to, so I need this, especially after being incapacitated by back pain for half the month of May. Even if I just end up walking the entire 5K, I’m sure it’ll be tons of fun, plus I’ll have my sister to keep me company! Now we just have to figure out what to wear! The weirder the costume, the better, I hear. 4all by JoFit apparel doesn’t fall into that category (thank goodness!), so I’ll have to get creative. I’ll start off with my 4all knit skort and tank, and build upon that!
