TwirlyGirl provided me with a maxi dress girls to facilitate my review, but all opinions are my own.
It’s March, and there are still several inches of snow on the ground here. We’ve had the coldest, snowiest winter in years. To say we’re daydreaming of warm, sunny days would be an understatement! Summer heat, sun dresses, bare feet… can’t get here soon enough!
Maya got to fantasize for a bit when she tried on her new TwirlyGirl Marvelous Girls Maxi Dress and twirled around the living room. She loves girls maxi dresses like these, and this one is so beautiful and unique. In ‘Ballon Frenzy Jubilee’ print, it is truly a piece of wearable art! Only 65 dresses of each design are made, so she’ll be wearing something almost one-of-a-kind!
With its colorful layers of stripes and blue polka dots, and a gathered front bodice, this girls maxi dress is super stylish. The loose fit and soft fabric make it super comfortable, too. To Maya, comfort is the most important factor in choosing clothes. If there’s anything scratchy, itchy, or tight, she just won’t wear it. I know for a fact she doesn’t wear everything in her closet. To find the right fit, there’s a comprehensive size chart on the TwirlyGirl website which lets you look at the individual sizing for each type of dress, so you can be sure you’re choosing just the right size by doing a little measuring. Maya’s dress is true to size, with a little growing room.
Most TwirlyGirl dresses are made with full or partial circle for maximum twirlage. When Maya started twirling and dancing around, she didn’t stop until she got dizzy! 😉
Quality is SO important to me, since Maya will be handing this dress down to her little sister eventually, and hopefully we’ll donate it one day so another little girl gets to enjoy it! This girl maxi dress is made to last using 4 thread overlock stitching in the seams, which makes the seams more durable, preventing holes from developing during spirited play and repeated washings. I love that it’s machine washable, since I really don’t have time to give my kids’ clothes any special care other than treating for stains here and there. A wash in cold or warm water and laying flat to dry (or a quick tumble on low heat) is all the care this dress needs. Plus, all TwirlyGirl clothing is manufactured in the USA, in Los Angeles, which I’m thrilled about because I love supporting companies whose products are American-made. That’s rare these days!
I could see Maya wearing this to an Easter picnic, a summer BBQ, a beach wedding, a school dance, and just to hang out at home. For the jet-setting girl – who will be going somewhere amazing for spring break or summer vacation – these dresses are great because they’re wrinkle-free for the most part and fold pretty small, so it’s an ideal outfit to pack since it comes out of the suitcase ready to wear! Maya’s dress only weighs 11 oz. I’m confident that once the weather gets warmer, this will be a dress she’ll wear all the time, not keep in her drawer.
