The Wee Generation Baby Bag: Wee love it!

I can truly say that I have a unique diaper bag. I haven’t seen any other mom with the same one. It’s a bag that my husband is not ashamed to carry. Most importantly, though, it’s eco-friendly. How many of you can say that about your diaper bag?

The Wee Generation Baby Bag is the culmination of close to a year of research and development, and a collaboration between Seventh Generation, Healthy Child Healthy World, and Rickshaw Bagworks, in an effort to bring children’s well-being and environmental health to the forefront. You’d think that danger could never be hiding in something as harmless as your diaper bag, but some have actually been shown to have dangerous lead levels.

From the inside out, this one is completely PVC-free. The exterior fabric is Cradle-to-Cradle certified, which means that only environmentally safe and sustainable products were used in the manufacturing process and in the material itself. More specifically, it’s made from 100% post-consumer recycled water bottles. How cool is that!?

It’s the little details that make this bag so amazing: the light color of the inside so that the bottom doesn’t turn into a black hole; the soft, suede-like changing pad; the three types of fasteners; the fact that just about everything is detachable; the comfy carrying strap… I could go on and on. It really has everything that you could possibly want in a bag. I can see myself using it even after baby’s out of diapers!

  4. Ok, first of all, they have an AWESOME website (I’m a graphic designer, so I always notice that kinda stuff!!). Love it. Secondly, I absolutely LOVE that their bags don’t look like your typical pink-frilly-winnie-the-pooh-dorky-diaper bags that most stores carry (and sorry to any of you who own a pink frilly winnie the pooh bag – that’s just not my style). Their bags look very well made and are something that I’d actually want to carry with me. And my hubby would actually carry it, too. Great bag!!

  10. This is a very nice bag, and I love all the features (and the loot inside, how great!). It’s nice that it’s waterproof and PVC-free, and also that 100% of the profits are donated. If one is going to donate $200 to charity, why not get a cool bag out of it too (is that selfish?).

  14. I love that it’s sustainably made, that it has a stroller strap, and that it’s light colored on the inside!! I’m constantly unable to see things b/c it’s so darn dark in there. Brilliant!   19. The fact that the whole thing is “green” is a really unique and great feature! But I’d say my favorite feature is the detachable inserts!
